Honor Your Ancestors at New Orleans National Vodou Day

Welcome to the Ancestor Honorarium page for New Orleans National Vodou Day! This is a unique opportunity to celebrate and honor your ancestors during this powerful cultural event. As part of the Honoring Our Roots Campaign, we invite you to participate by choosing from three personalized donation tiers. Each tier offers a special keepsake that will be displayed during the Vodou ceremony at Congo Square on April 6th.

Donation Tiers

We offer three donation tiers, each designed to create a lasting tribute to your ancestors. All items will be displayed on the ancestor’s altar during the Vodou ceremony in Congo Square. Choose the tier that best represents your tribute:

Ti Fey - $21 Donation

  • Includes a 30mm tree pendant engraved with your ancestor’s name.

  • The pendant will be displayed on the ancestor’s altar during the Vodou ceremony on April 6th.

  • A symbolic keepsake to honor your loved one.

Grand Bwa - $42 Donation

  • Includes a 40mm oval picture pendant featuring your ancestor’s image.

  • Images must be submitted by March 21st to ensure timely creation.

  • This heartfelt keepsake will be displayed on the altar in Congo Square.

Gwo BonAnj - $84 Donation

  • Includes a 4x6 NONVD 2025 acrylic picture frame with your ancestor’s image.

  • Images must be submitted by March 21st.

  • A beautiful, lasting tribute that will be showcased on the altar.

A Special Tribute for Our Furry Friends

In addition to honoring human ancestors, we will also dedicate a tree to celebrate our beloved furry companions who have crossed over. This tree will serve as a touching tribute to the animals who brought joy, love, and companionship into our lives. Their memory will be honored alongside our human ancestors.

How It Works

  • Creation: These keepsakes are custom made with your ancestors name or image.

  • Display: All keepsakes will be displayed on the ancestor’s altar during the Vodou ceremony at Congo Square on April 6th.

  • Participants: If you’re attending the event, you can take your keepsake home after the ceremony.

  • Unable to Attend?: Items will be placed on an altar at the New Orleans Healing Center for continued reverence. Unfortunately, we cannot ship items after the event.

This is a wonderful opportunity to honor your ancestors, support this historic event, and have a meaningful keepsake created in your ancestors’ honor. Donate today to secure your spot in this powerful celebration of legacy and tradition!
